Multinational military sports competition

Between 9th and 11th May 2018 Mil­i­tary Uni­ver­si­ty of Tech­nol­o­gy orga­nized the Multi­na­tion­al Mil­i­tary Sports and Shoot­ing Games. The cadets from Bel­gium, Bul­gar­ia, Ger­many, Greece, the Nether­lands, Ukraine and two MUT stu­dents took part in the sport­ing events. All sport­ing events were pre­pared and con­duct­ed by Phys­i­cal Edu­ca­tion Depart­ment and sup­port­ed by Inter­na­tion­al Coop­er­a­tion Depart­ment.

The cadets com­pet­ed in the plain sun in the fol­low­ing dis­ci­plines pre­ced­ed with the train­ing: Pneu­mat­ic Gun Shoot­ing, Ori­en­teer­ing Com­pe­ti­tion, Land Forces Obsta­cle Course, Mil­i­tary Obsta­cle Course, Cross­Fit Com­pe­ti­tion – Cross Work­out and Park­our Chal­lenge.

The cups were pre­sent­ed to the par­tic­i­pants by the Vice-Rec­tor for Mil­i­tary Affairs Col. Artur Król, DSc, Eng dur­ing the MUT Sports Day on 11th May. Indi­vid­u­al­ly, the first and the sec­ond place was won by the rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Ukraine from Zhit­o­myr Mil­i­tary Insti­tute and the third place – the rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Bul­gar­ia from Niko­la Vapt­sarov Naval Acad­e­my, Var­na.

One of the dis­ci­plines – cross­fit-work­out was done in pairs select­ed from the par­tic­i­pants. There­fore, as a team, the first place was won by the Pol­ish-Bul­gar­i­an team, the sec­ond place – Dutch-Ukrain­ian team and the third place – Ukrain­ian-Bel­gian team.

“Multi­na­tion­al Sports Com­pe­ti­tion means not only rival­ry but it is also the devel­op­ment of abil­i­ty to coop­er­ate in the inter­na­tion­al envi­ron­ment”, said Sat­urnin Przy­byl­s­ki, Ph.D., the Head of Phys­i­cal Edu­ca­tion Depart­ment.

The ini­tia­tive to hold the com­pe­ti­tion orig­i­nat­ed with­in the frame­works of coop­er­a­tion between MUT and Euro­pean mil­i­tary insti­tutes in which the MUT has been active­ly involved since the begin­ning of 2017.

While stay­ing at the MUT, the par­tic­i­pants took a short tour of the firearms lab­o­ra­to­ry at the Fac­ul­ty of Mecha­tron­ics and Aero­space and those who kept up their strength took part in the MUT Year­ly Stu­dent Car­ni­val.
