Between 9th and 11th May 2018 Military University of Technology organized the Multinational Military Sports and Shooting Games. The cadets from Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Ukraine and two MUT students took part in the sporting events. All sporting events were prepared and conducted by Physical Education Department and supported by International Cooperation Department.
The cadets competed in the plain sun in the following disciplines preceded with the training: Pneumatic Gun Shooting, Orienteering Competition, Land Forces Obstacle Course, Military Obstacle Course, CrossFit Competition – Cross Workout and Parkour Challenge.
The cups were presented to the participants by the Vice-Rector for Military Affairs Col. Artur Król, DSc, Eng during the MUT Sports Day on 11th May. Individually, the first and the second place was won by the representatives of Ukraine from Zhitomyr Military Institute and the third place – the representative of Bulgaria from Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, Varna.
One of the disciplines – crossfit-workout was done in pairs selected from the participants. Therefore, as a team, the first place was won by the Polish-Bulgarian team, the second place – Dutch-Ukrainian team and the third place – Ukrainian-Belgian team.
“Multinational Sports Competition means not only rivalry but it is also the development of ability to cooperate in the international environment”, said Saturnin Przybylski, Ph.D., the Head of Physical Education Department.
The initiative to hold the competition originated within the frameworks of cooperation between MUT and European military institutes in which the MUT has been actively involved since the beginning of 2017.
While staying at the MUT, the participants took a short tour of the firearms laboratory at the Faculty of Mechatronics and Aerospace and those who kept up their strength took part in the MUT Yearly Student Carnival.
